Fall Follies

Here are a few pictures we took at the Pumpkin Festival inside the Dallas Arboretum.

America's Next top Child Model & The Dare Devil

Oh the life of a child. So fancy & carefree. To only be that young again. Well, my time has past but I can live through my kids, which I do daily. Our little top model once again graced the runway for the Neiman Marcus annual children's fashion show. This is her third time so she has moved to the semi-pro level. Not quite top model but she is only two shows away from wearing the crown.

Now Justin will have no part of it. Motorcycles and race cars are more his steelo these days. If it isn't a plane train or automobile then Justin isn't interested. Give him some floor space and a few toy vehicles and you won't hear from him in what seems like days.

Check JC out on a flame painted tri-cycle & Ash on the princess bike in the Neiman's toy area.

Big kid school

Well, my Ashtyn has made the big leap from pre-school to kindergarten. Today was her first day in big kid school and we are just delighted. Ashtyn is attending Ashworth elementary in Arlington. This isn't her home base school and we decided to transfer her to Ashworth because it is such a good school. Ashworth has an exemplary education rating and the school has had it 4 years running. So we are excited that she was able to get into such a good school.

So here she is all grown up. I blew out her hair for the first day but I am only doing that for special occasions.

Face painting at Chick-fil-A

I thought I would post a picture of Ashtyn with her face painted at Chick-fil-A last week. Justin passed on the face paint & decided he would rather play then wait for a cool face painting. I guess we all have our priorities.

Summer Fun

Well summer is in full effect and the kids are really keeping me busy. With swim lessons, art camp, cheer leading, potty training, etc., etc. I barely have a moment to breath but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Swim lesson reacp.....

The kids both completed their swim lessons the week of July 4th. Ashtyn took to the water like a fish to my surprise as she can be a "little Diva" at times. She also didn't like getting her face wet but she worked it out. On the last day of swim class, she even jumped off the diving board....TWICE!! I am even proud to say that she was the only kid in her class to actually follow through with the jump.

Now Justin on the other hand screamed and whined the first two days. He finally "got it" by Thursday and was all in by the next week of the two week class. He still had his "I want to do what I want to do" moments but he learned to float, how to monkey crawl on the edge of the pool and how to climb out of the pool. His class focused on safety and getting comfortable with the water, and I think that was accomplished.

Scoccer Star

For those of you who don't know, Ashtyn played spring soccer this year. Ashtyn actually likes playing soccer, she just doesn't like to run. So can you imagine how that worked out? She did manage to score twice over the course of 10 games and I missed them both!! However, her Mimi (my Mom), was in town & she did get to see her score one of those goals. She wants to play again in the fall and hopefully she will pick up more technique as she learns. We mainly wanted to get her more active & meet new friends but it actually turned out to be fun for the whole family.

GO LIL' CRUSH!!

Best Friends

Ashtyn & Justin just love each other.....NOT!! They fight like cats and dogs but every now and again I catch them being nice to each other.

They may fight a lot but they definitely have each others back.
